Ableton Live 9.7.1

Live

Ableton has updated Live 9 to v9.7.1. Improved sound and timing of Complex and Complex Pro warp modes. Added Control Surface support for M-Audio Code and CTRL49. Live would crash at launch on OS X if the permissions for the system temporary folder were set to read only. Live would crash when performing 'Undo' after grouping chains in a Rack.

Live 9.7.1 was released in the beginning of December. That's 2 months ago. Do I think it's likely Live 10 is around the corner? It would appear likely, but a 9.8 preview (of some '10' features) is not out of the picture either. Hopefully Ableton have chosen the focus of the next release wisely whatever it is.

Hello everyone,
since many years I am struggling to get my Windows Laptops to run Ableton without any issues. Back in 2008 I had an Asus Dual Celeron Laptop that never had any issues, but it seems as computers are getting fast, Ableton really seems to mess it up. Lets make this long story short, I just bought a Thinkpad X230T with an i5 and 2,6Ghz boosting up to 3,3Ghz. I Run Ableton Live 9.7.1 and get pop clicks and sound distortions. (CPU usage in Live ist between 10 und 27%)
I Installed Win 7 Professional and did my usual Windows Tweaks:

Device Manager: -> Deactivate:

Wifi
Lan AdapterAbleton Live 9.7.1
onboard soundcard
ACPI Powermanagement adapter
Bluetooth
I Updated the BIOS and downloaded the newest drivers for every device.
I turned the main processor power to background activities and also tried in the 'programm' setting.....
I created virtual RAM double the size of the physical ram.
I turned offWindows Defenter and the Windows Firewall.
I deactivated the indexing Service 'Search function'
I set the visualisation to Windows classic, without any extra animation
I turned off 'Speedstep' and any power safety options in BIOS
I only use the ASIO drivers that came with my external USB audio Devices... so far I used:
* Native Instruments Audio 2 DJ
and
* Focusrite Saffire 6 USB
BTW I only used the 2.0 USB port for my extern Soundcards... On my old Thinkpad T420s using the 3.0 USB port with the external audio would cause bad sounds as well....
Fl studioI tried it with 512 and 1024 samples and 44100.. changed all kinds of settings in between...
I tried it without any Windows updates and then with all windows updates that they offer.
DPC Latency Checker seems fine:
LatencyMon gives me this:
Mostly beeing problematic:
*USBPORT.sys (after a while goes up to 0,3 ms)
*ataport.sys (after a while goes up to 0,3 ms)
* iusb3xhc.sys (intel usb 3.0..bla)
Here are my system stats:
I hope someone can give me a clue if there is anything else I can do.... I hate apple but maybe I finally have to move.... On other threads I heard about guys that bought a 3000 USD Macbook and had the same issues.... so this might be an Ableton thing ((
Anyone had luck going back to Ableton 8? I might give that a try, once I have more time...
